Today I went to the message boards to see what I could see.
I put in a surname and started reading the boards response.
What a surprise to find, there was information that I had not looked for before.
The boards change as people answer queries so some times they do not move for weeks or months and other times
they move rather quickly.
It reminded me to look for more than just a surname when you looking for a clue. Remember the region and connected
names that can relay interesting clues.
Take that surname and read some of the posts even if not your line it may still be distant kin to be found.
Clues come in dates, places, names and events, shared activities, such as a county fair or trial etc.

Susi,
When I first started using Legacy I downloaded some gedcoms from family search & rootsweb mainly. I have been working on Carson (my oldest son is supposed to be related to the famous Kit Carson, Clampitt, Page, Pember, Haas, Robinson, Newton, Sauer, Sewell, Klein are the main ones. Some I have been able to connect to our family, but I have a lot that are just there. I have a lot of work to do on citing my sources. I now realize how important it is is put where you got that information.
Sharon,
I am all eyes regarding your post. Do share. I have a Mac and Reunion program.
Will share what I can with you, gladly.
I have some that I added in my Legacy Family Tree Program that I am not sure if we are related or not but you just never know.
