strange happenings with the family.

Good morning .

My name is Alfred Read I have lived in Australia for almost 60 years having previously lived in Hull Yorkshire. Recently my elder sister asked if I could research the forebears, Oh what a tangled web we weave...

I know Grandfather, also Alfred Read was married three times, who I thought was Grandmother, was wife number three, having married Grandfather in 1925,my father George Alfred was born 1902,my dilemma is trying to find if the Grandmother was Emily Bubbings m1893 or Ethel M Bailey m 1901 or the one I knew.I would appreciate if any one could throw some light on it.

Comment by Liz Woods on February 7, 2013 at 12:00am: Your father was registered as George Alfred Read in Sculcoates Oct -Dec 1902 9d/118 -if you order his birth certificate, easily done on line, it will give you his mother's maiden name. He married wife number 2 in september 1902 (9d/399) shortly before the birth, so my guess is it's her. Happy hunting.
