They had been in and out of area for almost 50 years already.
Augusta and Frederick Counties formed, what will become West Virginia 1783.
A Nation Born - Ohio and Monongalia Co.'s formed 1776
Counties start shifting and sharing with new counties 1778.
Kentucky counties were separated in 1792. Key Map to remember 9 counties moved
Shifts in boundaries are more as the later counties are developed. Larger counties become smaller and many new counties are created.
Many West Virginia Counties are developed and boundaries are moving. Counties are shrinking as the settlements expands with people.
Boundary changes coming sooner from 1814 forward
Virginia in census year 1850 .
West Virginia formed in 1863.
Last county added to West Virginia in 1895.
