Uncanny Events, Non explained Situations for Genealogists and Family Historians.

Having just read about a very real situation that may draw more tourist to a historic place of residence, I saw Yes do it.

We learn history better by experiencing it than just reading. So if we watch and see and hear an event acted out, our brain will remember it better.

Funny how we as genealogists tend to accept things more than others do when it come to the unusual event,

or paranormal experience.  Hank Jones calls it Serendipity, for many occasions.

I learned to somewhat accept what happens though not always is it explained.  We have many things in life that way.

Having just read Gordon Belt's comments on:

The Posterity Project: The ghosts of blog posts past...

I wanted to say that for me many times, strange things happen. I had a lovely talk with Hank Jones about some of my experiences. Also about some of my Mother's experiences which were more startling than most of mine.

Why does a book open to just the page you need? Why does a tombstone show up in a non suspected place and you were not even looking for it?  Why did they come set on the end of the bed and tell you a story and its 3:33 in the morning in a cousin's house in Pennsylvania. There was obviously information that was needed to be learned or shared.

Why do we feel the need of another even though they are not near us?

There is much in our world we have turned our backs on as not normal or unaccepted that is still there and does not go away.

Indian culture lived and accepted much of what we are just getting our toes wet with today.

But the help is there if you watch for it and look and listen. No do not strain for it won't happen it has to be a

real feeling or situation for our more total senses to be awakened.  Genealogists can use it to help break brick walls, and locate the right path for doing research when we are stymied.

Have you ever had a Serendipity moment?
