Samuel Kerr
In the name of God, Amen, I Samuel Kerr of Baldwin Township Allegheny County, and State of Pennsylvania, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being of sound mind and memory Blessed be Almighty God for the same.
Do make publish and declare this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following, that is to say
All my just debts and funeral expenses being paid
First, I bequeath to my two beloved daughters Elizabeth and Sarah for and during their natural life and the life of the survivor of them, the mantion house in which I now reside. Together with all the house hold furniture and utensils therein, and two milk cows to be kept for them on my farm on which I reside, summer and winter. And also to my said two daughters and the survivor of them, I bequeath their reasonable support and maintenance, in manner and style as they have thereto been accustomed to. To have the same of and from the produce of my said farm on which now reside.
Second to my son Joseph I devise and bequeath for and during his natural life, the house in which he now resides, together with five acres of ground around and convenient thereto, provided he resides upon and continues to occupy the same himself, And at his decease or upon his removing from said house and Lot, I devise the same over to my son Thomas his heirs and assigns forever. The aforesaid occupancy is to be by my said son Joseph personally and not by tenant.
Third, to my sons, John, James and Samuel and my grandson Martin Kerr I bequeath each one dollar
Fourth, to my daughter Mary Graham I bequeath one hundred dollars, to be paid to her by my son Thomas in a reasonable time after my decease.
Fifth to my son Thomas I devise and bequeath, subject to the foregoing, bequests and devises, all the reside of my estate real and personal of whatsoever kind and whosesoever situate, to him and his heirs forever.
Sixth, I nominate and appoint my son Thomas, and my daughter Elizabeth, Executor and executrix of this my last Will and Testament.
And lastly I hereby revoke all former wills by me at any time made.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the thirteenth day of January A.D. 1847
Signed sealed published and declared by the above named Samuel Kerr to be his last Will and Testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed our names as witnesses thereunto the day and year above written.
