Hi-
I was wondering if anyone had successfully ordered and received records for a WW1 veteran? According to my FIL's grandfather's death record, he was a WW1 veteran. I'm curious what information this file would include?

thank you :)

My great grandfather was a WWI vet as well I would be curious about his service record as well
I have a great uncle that was in WW1 (army). I recently tried to get his military records from the Personnel Records Center in St. Louis. I'm trying to determine what happened to him after the war, since nobody in the family seems to know. I only know he didn't die during the war because my mother remembers him coming to visit. Mom was born in 1928.

Received a letter today that stated his services records were more than likely lost in the 1973 fire. They do have his Final Pay Voucher, which I can order. I will probably order because that would be one more thing to help determine the when, where, what of his life after the war. I'm also planning to check the GA State Archives to see if they have a Summary Card on his services.

After I get this information, will determine what other sources may be available to reconstruct his life.
