Genealogy Wise

The Genealogy & Family History Social Network

I have just joined the Canadian Genealogy group on Genealogy Wise as this morning I have solved a 16 year old mystery - the ancestry of Henry Gawaine Duncalf who lived in Quebec. An article about his son Laurie appeared in the Duncalf Dossier Vol 2 No 4 May 1993 edition and I hoped then to find Henry G's ancestry in the next edition! I have posted the story on the Canadian Genealogy group page and won't repeat it here.

Sorry, it was the Vol 2 No 3 edition of the Dossier that carried Laurie's story. I have posted the relevant pages here plus a small family tree showing his descent. I have been able to find the registration of Henry G's birth as Henry Gowaine BACKHOUSE Stockport Registration District, March quarter 1856.
