Hello, I am looking for info on my ggrandmother and ggrandfather, they both were born in MS. her name is Filamensia ? b. abt 1871 and his name is Lenn Lowmax b. abt. 1864, I can only find them on the 1900 census in Monroe Co. Arkansas, there chidren names are Josh b. 1888, Edreme (my grandmother) b. between 1890 , Adelar b. 1892 and Arel D. b. 1894. I don't know what happened to them after that because in 1910 census my grandmother was living with a cousin, so how do I find them before and after 1900.

Thanks
Willette

Good morning Willette-
Could you tell us about your grandmother? Where was she in 1910? Did she always live in Mississippi? Anything you could tell us might help us find more information for you. :)
Hi kate,
My grandmother was in Monroe Co, Arkansas in 1910 living with a cousin, named Thomes (Thomas) Wilson and his wife Lillie ? in 1920 she was still in Ark. with just my father General Bryant and some lodgers, in 1930 she married a Bert C. Cammon and my father was still with her. In the Ark death index it said that she died in 1941 in Ark. I have posted on genforum. these are all the names that were used on the census, Edseme, Edren, Edrean, Edreme, on my fathers birth cert. it is spelled edream.

Thanks Kate

Hi, I don't understand who is who on the 1910 census either, so could that be her brother and sister? I can't find a clearer census either, I have looked on the SSDI to and can't find her or any of them. She was married to a Bert C. Cammon in the 1930 census, he adopted my father. I aslo know that my father was married to before he married my mom and had a child with this marriage, I believe that her name might be L.Z. Clark and I can't find anything on her, she suppose to be chinese. You know I can't find anything about my grandfather General Bryant, my fathers birth cert. don't say were he was born, all it says is that he was 30 years old when my father was born, and that he was a brick mason, I do know that Lillie Wilson signed his birth cert.

Willette
Oh yea Thomes and Lillie did have a dau. named Freddie.

Hi WIllette-

I tried to find a Filamensia in 1880, and I came across a Philis Lewis, age 8 in Monroe County, MS. Her parents were Louis and Susan Lewis, both age 30. She had siblings Julia, age 3 and Ben 1 month old, born May of 1880. Also there was an Ephraim Lewis, listed as servant, but could be Louis's father or uncle? Just an idea, I could not find anything that really matched up well with Filamensia. :)
I know Kate, to me it's like they really never existed, you know what I mean. The reason why I am trying to find info on my dads side is because, i'm 43 and me and my 2 sisters never had a chance to meet any of them not even on my moms side, he was black and she was white and back then we all know that it was not suppose to happen as far as them being together, so they both knew that they could never go home again, my mom went in the army I think in 1957 and never went back to LA. my father and my mom had my 2 older sis in CA. and then me. I just found some of my moms family again and we talk right now, so that is why it is so important to me to find out and maybe even find some living relatives before I pass, and pass everything down to my kids. I'm sorry for rambling on like this, but it means so much to me that you and who ever is willing to help me. I thank you and everybody that helps me.

Thanks so much
Willette
I understand, Willette, I'm hoping we can find solve some of the mystery with you. Just from working on my genealogy for the last 3 years, I'm beginning to understand a little more about why my family is the way it is, not all of it, but some of the pieces make sense.

Hang in there, we will do our best to find those answers with you-
hugs
Kate
