Family of John P. Gibson, b. 1799 in SC

Thanks GeneJ, for checking the 1850 U.S. Census. Although I cannot confirm it, I believe John P. and Margaret J. Williams Gibson remained in Monroe County, MS or the vicinity until after the 1850 census was taken. I have found their family on both the U. S. Census of 1860 and 1870, when they were living in the Cherry Hill area of Calhoun County. Since I have been unable to locate either John or Margaret on the U. S. Census taken in 1880 (and have been unable to find their graves or dates of death), I believe John may have died between 1870 and 1880 and Margaret may have remarried.
