I have several brick walls! The main one that I'm hoping to get help with here would be WILLIAM GREEN, b. 1873 in Louisburg, NC to mother Anna Green. William (and a few other family members) moved to NY and lived as whites. My 90 year old cousin has shared stories from her recollection that he married a white woman, possibly Jewish. ( I do have a marriage record of his marriage to Sally Lou Johnson in 1904, but I believe that was a first wife, who was also from Louisburg.) I have a few stories about him, but I'd really like to find out if he had any descendants. I would also love to find his wife's family!
The rest of my brick walls are more elusive because they were slaves: ANNA GREEN (William's mother) is said to have originally been a Perkins, who ran away from her (presumed) owners in either VA or TN, and ended up in NC. I'd love to be able to verify this story, and at try to find out more about her. My gg grandparents, CALVIN and PRESCILLA YARBOROUGH were both enslaved. I am working hard to try to find parent(s) for either of them, especially Calvin, but it's tough because he transferred owners several times. Owners that I know of were Neals (several), Yarborough, and possibly Perry
