Benjamin Franklin Burton, 53, died at the home of his son, Worley C. Burton, on the Logana Road, Aug. 19 (1947), after several weeks illness. He was a son of the late Milford and Lizzie Willis Burton, and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Burton; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond Jacobs, of Nicholasville; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Leonard Woods, of Lancaster; two brothers, Forrest and Virgil Burton, of Jessamine County. The body was removed to the home of his brother, Virgil Burton, where the funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, and burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery.

Obit: Worley Burton, 71, Taylor Ridge Road, husband of Loretta Cobb Burton, died Jan. 13 (1995) at Humana Hospital. He was the son of the late Franklin and Ethel English Burton and was a farmer. Survivors other than his wife include a son, Tommie Burton and his wife, Jane; two daughters, Sue C. Reed and Marcia Wooten and her husband, John; his granchildren Steve Burton, Shaun Reed-Muncy and her husband, Brent, Erica Reed and Kaitlyn Wooton; step-grandchildren Amy Watts-Boone and her husband, Doug Boone, and Bobby Watts and his wife, Missy; a great-grandson, Will Muncy; a sister, Irene Jacobs; a nephew, Bill Jacobs, his wife, Susan, and their daughter, Ashton. Services were held Jan. 16 at the Guyn, Kurtz, Hager and Cundiff Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Mallory and Hugh Delaney officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery.

Mr. John Milton Burton who has been reported ill for some time of a
complication of diseases departed this life, Monday July 30, 1917. Mr.
Burton was a man of advanced age. He was a carpenter and had made many
friends. He leaves one daughter and four sons to mourn his loss.
Burial Tuesday in a grave yard near his late home.

Betty Peel Burton, 79, died Wed. Dec. 30, at her home. She was a native of Jessamine County born Sept. 24, 1930, to the late Calvin B. and Eliza W. Peel. She was the widow of Vernon C. Burton who died in 1999, a retired secretary for the Jessamine County Cooperative Extension Office, and a member of the Nicholasville Christian Church. Betty had also been a member of the Jessamine Woman’s Club, the Homemakers Club, the Nicholasville Garden Club, and the Nicholasville Business and Professional Woman’s Club. Survivors include her sister Geneva Hill, 3 nephews David Lowry, Mark Lowry, and Harold Hill, a niece Wanda Tingley and special friend Betty Davis. She was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Lowry and brother in law Russell Hill. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday, Jan. 4, at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Mandrell officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Harold Hill, David Lowry, Mark Lowry, Hunter Lowry, Sid East, and Bob Ball. Honorary bearers will be Delton House, Bill Davis, Preston Kennedy, Nan Pariseau, Wallene Lucas, Jane Kurtz, Jennie Abner, Lisa Tweeddale, Lin McCuddy, Charlotte Willhoite, Dorothy Livings, Everee Willis, Mary Jane East, and Jane Ball.
