Parents of my ancestor, Tamyzine Page
Tamyzine (Tamson) Page-Martin is my Great-Great Grandmother, and was born in Pennsylvania about 1840. She does not show up until 1860, when she is living on a farm in Sadsbury Twp., Lancaster County Pennsylvania. She is a Housekeeper for Sam and Sarah McNeil. Her race is listed as Mulatto, and she is twenty years old. She married Great-Great Grandfather, Uriah Martin sometime around 1870. My mother told me that she was Mohawk Indian, and her family came from New York. In the 1850 census for Muncy Pennsylvania there is a (female), Teremiah Page listed in the age fits with my ancestor. There is also a Tamyzine Page listed with her family in Maine around 1850. My belief is that her family may have been some of the Indians living in Missions around Pennsylvania. Possibly the Moravians, or Quakers had taken them in.

On the 1850 census in Maine, I see an Alonzo Page who seems to be a twin to Tamson in Augusta, Maine they are both listed as 8 years old.
Was Uriah married before he married Tamyzine, in 1870 I see there are several children already.
Do you have information on Tamyzine's death? Or her children or husband?

On Uriah' Martins' Pension application he states that he was only married once. He names all of their children (there were quite a few). Some may have been born before the marriage. I have the date of their marriage (have to look it up), in Uriahs' Pension application. Tamson died in 1899, before Uriah and is buried beside him at Union Hill Cemetery in Kennett Square PA. Uriah was in the Civil War, and served with the 41st United States Colored Troops out of Lancaster County PA. The McNeil family history may give some clues as to where Tamson came from. They may have been members of the same church, or friends of her family.

I have not followed all of the children, just my Great-Grandfather, William Martin. I am going to get my ancestors Civil War Pension file and look at it for the marriage and birth dates.
