Nicholasville: Mary Teater House, 94, of Rarrick Ave. died Sat., Nov. 25, at Mayfair Manor. A native of Jessamine County she was born May 9, 1912, to the late Harmon and Jewel Dean Teater. She was the widow of William Fountain House who died in 1963. “Mama” Mary as she was affectionately known by both family and friends loved to travel and was always ready to go when invited. She was most proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always eager to talk about them. She enjoyed being a part of the breakfast crowd at Arby’s and had acquired her own reserved seat there. Survivors include her 3 children Mildred Don Tracy, Billy Fount House and Sandy Hammons, Marilyn “Mickey” H. Pope and husband Miles H., 4 grandchildren Debbie Gardner, Tal House, Steve House, and Andy Criner, 6 great grandchildren Ryan Gardner, Crystal Agee, Logan House, Kyndall House, Caroline Criner, and Kate Criner, and 2 great great grandchildren Lauren and Garrett Stocker.

Services will be 2:00 PM Wed., Nov. 29, at HAGER & CUNDIFF FUNERAL HOME, W. Oak St., with Rev. Lee Baltzer officiating, burial in Maple Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be George Hager , Billy Teater, Dee Wilson, and Gene Buskirk.

William Bradley Teater, a retired Jessamine County businessman and farmer, died yesterday at his home on Danville Road after a long illness. He was 91. Teater, the son and grandson of grocers, ran Teater's Grocery in Jessamine County for many years. The business remains in his family.

Ada Teater Masters, 95, died Nov 5, 2000 at Royal Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Jessamine Co., Oct. 20 1905, the daughter of the late Robert and Harriet Agee Teater. She had worked in sales. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Nov 7, at Maple Grove Cemetery.

Agnes Mae Teater Peel, 94, widow of Jordan J. Peel, died Nov. 17, 2000. The daughter of the late Haze and Mary Jane Burgin Teater. She was a member of the Jess. Co. Sr. Citizens, Homemakers, and the Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by 3 sons and their wives, Russell and Betty Peel, Chester R. and Joyce Peel, Hoover and Mary Ella Peel, all of Nicholasville; daughter in law, Maydean Peel of Nicholasville; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by 3 children, Huston "Tince", Jord Jr., Vernard Cook Peel. Funeral services were held at Betts and West with the Rev. David Rosoc and the Rev. Don Reed officiating. Burial followed at Maple Grove Cemetery. Bearers were David, Doodle, Jeff, Lois, Eddie Peel, Johnathan Wallace, Josh and Seth Mulcahy.

Valiera Teater Moores, 73, Campbell, California, widow of William Moores, died Sunday, (Sept. 18, 1983) at Westgate Convalescent Hospital, in San Jose, California, after a lengthy illness. She was formerly of Jessamine County, and was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Harriett Agee Teater. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Newton (Ila) McDonough, Marietta, Ga., three grandchildren, Mrs. Peter (Susan) Zimmermann, San Francisco, California, Mrs. Timothy (Donna) Hurley, Kodiak, Alaska, Nancy Vinton, Santa Rosa, California, great-grandson, Devin James Hurley, Kodiak, Alaska; a sister, Mrs. Waldon (Ada) Masters, one brother, Fred Teater, both of Nicholasville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A memorial service will be held at the Little Hickman Christian Church on Saturday, September 24, at 1:00 p.m. Eulogy will be given by a great nephew, Hank Penrode.
