I will be interested to learn how to succeed in my research because I am confronted with this for the past 2 and probably more generations as I search for my ancestors. My grandparents split up in the 1920's or 1930's, but I don't know in which state(s), or even where they were married. I've been searching census records for a short time. Any suggestions? My husbands great granparents divorced in massacusetts in 1898 after less than a yr of marriage. Would like to know where I can obtain copies of their divorce records any advice would be a big help. Thanks Karen
Juanita, You will first have to find them together and locate where they were living. This is key to your search! Divorce records vary so much!! Most are buried in local court records and most are not indexed as a divorce. If you can find them in 1910 that will at least give you a start.
Thank You!
