I'm helping GW member Bob Winborn join the SAR. Does anybody have access to Northampton County, NC records?

Looking for records of Lt. John Winborn (his son received a land grant now in TN for his father's service) who married Anne/Anna Hunter born in Nanesemond, VA. Anna was born about 1722 & John abt. 1721 in what would have been Bertie County (Northampton formed in 1742). John died in Continental Line service in 1777.

His son William and grandson William could have also served. William III (grandson) is cited as having served- in a county history. Son William was born bef. or abt. 1735 & died in 1807, both in Northampton County [then Bertie?]. Grandson William was born in 1764 & died in 1834 both in Northampton County. Their wives were both apparently born in Northampton County (Sarah Gatling- son William & Matha- grandson William).

Any access to court of church records or military papers?

I looked at Footnote, and only saw one record for a John Winborn, he was a Private and appears to have deserted in 1779.

Looking at the birthdate of John Winborn you give, he would have been 14 when his son William was born?

I did find this site:

Here is a PDF on the Winborns, still not finding much on Footnote, I've tried different spellings, and it appears that a John Winborne from NC survived until 1832 and was applying for a pension.
