Hello everyone. I've been collecting information to compare different sites that let users search for gravesites and cemetery records. So far, I know of FindAGrave, Interment.net, DeceasedOnline, and the Veteran's Graves....

Are there others that you know about? The more the, umm... merrier(?).

Thanks.

David

David, I have over 3,000 pix that I have put on FAG and may willing to share with other sites. Do you know if I can add my pix at these other sites?
Regina...seems to me I have seen other sites that accept photo uploads, but I'm most familiar with findagrave, so I'm not sure where to send you next. But there are a fair number of links posted in this thread, so begin exploring, and see what turns up.

David
Hi Regina;
Here is a site where you can upload pix. Don't let the name throw you, it is a growing site.

Class A Cemeteries—managed cemeteries, usually more than 200 graves. These cemeteries are mapped by the managing organization.

HOW TO MAP CLASS A:
A Class A cemetery is managed by a public agency such as a city, county, cemetery district, or a private entity such as a funeral home or church. If you know of a Class A cemetery you would like added to this website, contact the management of the cemetery and inform them of this site. Encourage them to complete the Attached Questionnaire and fax it to 801-226-0394. A NAMES IN STONE representative will contact them with pricing and funding suggestions.

Class B Cemeteries—small cemeteries, less than 200 graves, often cared for by families or volunteers. These cemeteries can be mapped by you.

HOW TO MAP CLASS B:
Follow these simple steps:

1. Visit the Cemetery
Begin by sketching the location of each headstone and transcribing headstone information. Use the helpful instructions found here: Class B Mapping Recommendations.

2. Register or Sign In
Please register or sign in on the NAMES IN STONE website to access the cemetery project application and mapping tools.

3. Project Application
Complete the Cemetery Project Application form. This essential information is necessary to post a new cemetery on the site.

4. Draw the Cemetery
On the Cemetery Construction page, use notes from your visit and the on-line mapping tools to re-create the cemetery.

This site is a great. I will check there when I am having trouble locating a grave, also many states have local sites such as http://usgenweb.org/ that will also have local cemetery information.
