Heres one for you all.There is a monument dedicated to H.A.Smith near my home. As you can see by the pictures it has dates and other info.
I have looked at the deed for this property and it is owned by the county.
It is located along Old Route 322 Canal Township,Venango County,Pennsylvania
This is how it's listed on a website "Monument to H. A. Smith, an unknown pioneer, found in excavations for the new Lakes to Sea Highway, 1922, Old Route 322, Venango County, PA "
I have tried the state archives In Pa and they knew nothing.
Located 4-5 miles from it was an Indian villiage by the name of Custaloga Town and forts which were located in Franklin,Pa
He isn't connected to me in anyway...just plain curiousity. I drive past it everyday.

Thats fine. Maybe you can make some headway. I couldn't get anywhere with the county.
