This was a typical sawmill town, which came into being because the Miller-Vidor sawmill and lumber company set up an operation in the area some time before 1907. Today, the old town is gone, but families still live in the area.
The original townsite is now a pasture, the land which once was home to the sawmill is now a catfish farm, the train depot is long gone and the county road was once the railroad tracks. Sadly, the cemetery is there but no headstones remain.
