Earlier this month of August, I was elected Family Historian of this huge family to replace the very awesome Beulah (Stoudt) Follmer who passed away in May of 2009. Since my husband's family is descended from the D-line, I have only focused on that line (it has lines from A-V) in the past. As Family Historian, I want to give all lines equal attention. Beulah never used family tree software, but some family members have. I would like to locate those who have the various lines in GEDCOM format, those who would like to help in the research, those who would like to help in the verification of research, and those who would like to trouble shoot problems in the various lines or their own line. That's just for starters. Any Staudt-Stoudt-Stouts on line here?

I don't know if this has any connection to your family, but there was a grade school named, Amanda Stoudt in Reading. Also I had a Junior High School teacher whose last name was Stoudt. I believe he was Jewish, but don't know for sure. He was one of the best teachers in the school (Southwest Junior High Reading PA), which is why I still remember him at the age of sixty-two.
Wow! You are right. I grew up outside of Reading and never realized that. The relatives initially settled in Reading for the most part. Here's what the school district website says: "Amanda E. Stout was the first female Superintendent in the Reading School District. When she died in 1934, the district honored her by naming the school that was under construction in her memory. We are located in the south east section of Reading at 321 South 10th Street." I have to check which line she is in.
Thank you, Karl-Michael, but the Staudt-Stoudt-Stout lines have been pretty well researched back to 1535 in Germany and many immigrating to the U.S. in the 1700s. In the early 1900s Rev. John Baer Stoudt of Brazil and others in the U.S. since then have worked on the 21 identified lines. Some were Staude, Staud, Staut, Stoutt and other variations depending on who wrote it down. An annual reunion is held in Bernville, PA on the 2nd Sunday in August each year. After the death in May, 2009, of Beulah Stoudt Follmer who worked on the family genealogy for about half a century, I was elected Family Historian. I am working to connect with others who have worked on the various lines as we prepare to produce an updated family history to be published in the future. Much progress has been made and many people across the country are pulling together in the effort as I connect with them. The work of past family genealogists must be reverified for footnotes, but tremendous amounts of work have been done since August 2009. All of the work of the past was done in Microsoft Word which fails as a genealogy database. Much has already been and continues to be entered in Legacy Family Tree. FYI-- Besides all of the controversies and problems that exist, Beulah and I both believed that it should be in a format to be distributed through the family only. I have no intentions of publishing online, and I hope others in the family will refrain from doing so.
I just noticed your post concerning the Stout family. I have information on descendants of Abraham Carter Stout who migrated into Pope County, Arkansas and then into Indian Territory (Oklahoma). We would be interested in information on Abraham (1791 Virginia to 1842 Arkansas) and back Any help would be appreciated.
Great news, Linda! Do you know which line you are in? You don't have to know, but it's easier. Have you seen any of the books on the Stouts where Abraham might be? I presume not, but I thought I would ask. I will look for what I can in the meantime.
God bless,
Ellen
Ellen: The only book I have seen was written by a local person called The Descendants of Abraham Stout. Apparently the last researchers were stymied at that point. If you could give me some titles I could check for inter-library loan. Since Abraham is the furtherst ancester back we can account for I can't answer the question of which line we're in.

I appreciate your note that this work is not for publication. I would be happy to collaborate with you as best I can and hope to add more information to our family tree as well.
Take care and thanks.
Linda
Hello Linda. I am interested in this book. Please contact me at email: ladyofvictory1960@telus.net
Hello Ellen. I have a copy of the family tree dated back to 1535. If there is info that you would like/we can exchange info if need be. Contact me at email address: ladyofvictory1960@telus.net Thank you so much.

Laura Stout, shalom
Laura, I have the info dating back to 1535. We are planning on publishing a book in 2012 updating from everything that has been researched to date. We already have info on 13,417 people. I'm sure there are some smaller things that we don't know about, but the Richard Staudt, Rev. John Baer Stout, Rear Admiral Herald F. Stout, and Ralph Stoudt research we already have. The Admiral's son gave me permission to use his father's work as a basis to begin from. This will be the first book in 40 years so we want it as complete as possible.

God bless,
Ellen Kramer
Linda, email your phone number to me at familyhistorylady@comcast.net. We can probably do better discussing what you and I have that might connect by going back and forth that way. Or you can call me at (717) 866-5425. I'm in Pennsylvania. I would be glad to help.
God bless,
Ellen
Please contact me through my e-mail through this website. i remeber my dad taking us to visit an aunt beulah and nancy< is all i remeber! thank you

Abraham Stout b ca 1770 probably NC possibly KY d 1842 Washington Co AR m Sarah P ?

known children:

William M Stout m  Anne Parker

James Stout m Elizabeth Rackley

Isabella Stout m Willliam M Martin  (my direct line)

Delano Stout m Mariah Sheffield

Mary W Stout m Henry Swisher Jones (brother to my ancestor James Jones)

Peter Stout m Elizabeth Ann Fitzgerald

It is possible that Abraham was married prior to Sarah because of his age and in the 1830 Blount Co AL census he had more people living in his home than I have named

1830 • Blount, Alabama, United States

1 male age 50-59 b 1771-1780 (Abraham)

1 female age 40-49 b 1781-1790 (Sarah )

1 M 10/14, Peter,

1 m 15-19 Delano,

3 m 20-29 (sons? nephews?)

1 m 30-39 ?

1 f 20/29 Isabella

William, James & Mary were married living in their households.

Abraham left a will in Washington Co AR naming his wife Sarah and when she passed it was to go to his nephews A Madison Stout & James W Stout so they could be in this house but then there are two more males unaccounted for.

I believe A Madison Stout is the Abraham Madison Stout b 1817 AL and likely his brother James W Stout  who both served in Capt Musgrove's Co /Blount Co AL Mexican American War

I have lots more to share. This Abraham was in Mason Co KY and Knox/Roane Co TN then Cotaco (now Morgan Co AL) before Pope & Washington Cos AR. He is nearly 20 yrs older than the Abraham Carter Stout b 23 Jul 1791 that everyone has mistakenly attached him to.  Angelah1012@aol.com
