Hallo all!,
Although I looked in the book on Ludgershall written by a local lady historian, there was NO mention of any members of the HUTCHINS family. I have many mentions of them in records - as butchers mainly, but in the 19th century my gguncle the Rev. Allan Borman Hutchins was the clergyman there!
Can anyone throw any light on this please?
The other HUTCHINS family records that I have commence in Great Bedwin, Weyhill and Penton Mewsey.
Many thanks,
Yvonne Wagstaff (nee Hutchins)
Hi Yvonne,
My grandad was James Hutchins and his ancestry comes from Ludgershall. I have data back to John Hutchins (b.1683).

Steve
Hallo Steve,
This is very interesting! At the moment I haven't time to delve into the ancestors line, but I know I don't have it back to 1683. Do you have any from Penton Mewsey or Weyhill which are close to Ludgershall? Keep in touch!
Best regards,
Yvonne
My grandad was born in St Mary Bourne, Hants as was his father Walter H in 1879. The line from there goes Henry (b.1829 in Ludgershall) who married Sarah Colebrook from St Mary Bourne (which will be why they lived in St M B), his father was William H (b.1796 in Burbage / Chute), his father was Robert (b1762 Chute), his father was Edward (1712 Ludgershall), his father John (1683 Ludgershall). I believe John's father was WIlliam H, but have no dates for him.

I'm not aware of any connections with Penton Mewsey or Weyhill.

My email is steveferring@btinternet.com if you want more details.

Hi Steve,
It seems we share the same 5xgt.grandfather (Edward Hutchins b.1712 Ludgershall), but could you tell me where you get his fathers' name and birth year from?
My 4xgt.grandfather was Thomas b.1745 Chute, Robert's brother.
Regards,
Andy
