Minnie was the daughter of Allen A. Burton and Sophroni Cobb. She married Lindsey House on November 30, 1893, in Jessamine County, Kentucky. Minnie and Lindsey had two sons, Oakley and Burton. Minnie House and son Oakley
Mary Ruth House Friend, 89, of Richmond formerly of Bethel Rd., Nicholasville, and of Georgetown died Thurs. Aug 13, at the Compassionate Care Center in Richmond. A native of Jessamine County she was born Nov. 2, 1919, to the late Alvin R., Sr. and Kate Perkins House. She was the widow of Woodrow Friend, Sr. who died in 1990. Mary Ruth was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University where she earned her degree in Home Economics and before her marriage taught school in Betsy Lane, Ky., a member of the DAR, Royal Springs Chapter, and a member of Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church. She loved the farm and considered herself a homemaker and farmer. Survivors include her 2 children Woodrow Friend, Jr., wife Patti, Nicholasville and Kathlyn Friend, Richmond, a sister Neva Kathleen Bailey, Lexington, 6 grandchildren Kate Burnam Friend Ebrahimi, husband Kevin, John Burnam Friend, wife Mira, James Woodrow Friend, John Christopher Friend, Woodrow M. Friend DVM, and Clarissa Christine Friend, 5 great grandchildren Anabelle Friend, Clayton Friend, Nicholas Friend Mink, Julia Ebrahimi, and Dylan Kelsey Friend and numerous extended family members. She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Wendell House and Alvin R. House, Jr.
Services will be 2 :00 PM Sat., Aug. 15 at Roberts Chapel United Methodist Church, burial in the House Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Burnam Friend, James Woodrow Friend, John Christopher Friend, Woodrow M. Friend DVM, Wendell House II, David Bailey, Donald House, Woodrow Friend, Jr. and Bill Friend. Honorary bearers will be Howard Downing and Edward Lynch. Visitation will be at the church from 10:00 AM on Sat. Aug. 15, until time of service. JESSAMINE COUNTY FARMER, 72, DIES AFTER FALLING OFF TRACTOR
A Jessamine County farmer died Tuesday after he fell off a tractor and was run over, according to the Fayette County coroner's office. Bobbie Clifton Johns, 72, of West Brown Street, Nicholasville, was taken to the University of Kentucky Medical Center after the accident, which occurred about 2 p.m. on a farm in Jessamine County. He was pronounced dead at 6 p.m.Mr. Johns was a World War II veteran and the husband of Betty Johns.Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home.

He was a long time supervisor of the Electrical Department for the City of Nicholasville and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ. Additional survivors include two sons, Scott House and his fiancée, Sarah Coyne and John House and his wife Andrea, step children, Cynthia and Richard Bryant, step grandchildren, Mollie Mastin, Camron Quinn and Jaedon Bryant, a brother, Roy House.
