Am I barking up the wrong tree? Someone found an Eli Baker buried in
Windham Co, CT. I know I should order a birth and death certificate for
John and hope I get more info, just haven't found the $20 for each as of
yet. I thought I had better birth and death dates for John but can't
find them right now. I found a census that John is with another person
at the age of 11. It appears that John was given to someone aft the age of
2.

What Baker ancestors are you sure are yours? I have Baker family in Allegan County, but they came from Ohio. My cousin there tells me there were other Baker lines, too. One is hers.

This is where I am stuck Debbie, with Eli. I am pretty sure this is John's father but not 100%. And I don't know why John was abandoned.
