It is my belief that the wreck is from abt 1890 give or take a few yrs.

I have 2 original photos.

The car to the left has "States Post Office" on it, the "United" must have been on the door section.
The car with the guy standing in the opening has "Baggage" on it twice with a number I can't make out. The car just behind the engine has "416" on it.
UPDATE:
I found the larger photos. It says Calvary KY, I believe it is this one, in June of 1900:

Hi, amazing photos, I would send copies to the Filson Club in Louisville to the Director and see if they can identify them.

Cannot see the engine but there seems to be an old tresle bridge on the right. Maybe the Railroad board would have some ideas also.  Sure looks like an old coal burner.  My granddad was an engineer on the IC our of Paducah for 50 years.

Great you identified it as Calvary, KY. Calvary is in Marion Co, and the county map shows the railroad track parallels Hwy 208, and crosses a small river or creek just past Calvary Rd. and before Hwy 412.

Possibly the Marion County Historical Society would have a record of a 1900 train wreck.

Thank you Julia for the suggestions and for looking at the map!! I will try to get in touch with them.
