County Sligo
hi, found out that my aunt was confirmed in County Sligo in 1952, is there anyone who can help me in the lines of trying to find school friends of hers from the 50s as i cannot find out the school she went to, her name is Mary Fanning (d.o.b.-23-09-1939), that way i may be able to trace her, she wasn't born in Sligo she was born in County Galway,

You probably have found the info by now but just in case you haven't try this. The Family Search Org site is great if you search under their pilot scheme. You would be able to find the birth registration district etc. You could then contact them for a birth certificate. Also if you write to the Catholic Diocese of Sligo they would tell you where the church records are. I find church records much better than any other. Check on line to see what parishes are on line. Also the National Archives of Ireland have school records which might help. Let me know if you need any further info. Meanwhile, happy hunting. Regards. Lorraine
