here are the facts referring to that Herrmann family as I know until today:
John Theodore Herrmann
he was the head of the family, that immigrated to the USA
born as Johann Theodor Herrmann, son of Johann Jost Herrmann in Bernsburg near my hometown Kirtorf in the former 'Grossherzogtum Hessen-Darmstadt'
he was married with Katharina Dorothea Krieger, she had 1 brother Johannes, 1 sister Maria Katharina, who was married with Konrad Jakoby, my gr-gr-grandfather, 1 sister Elisabeth and 1 brother Heinrich Krieger, married with Karoline Zulauf, this couple also went into the USA
John T. Herrmann and his wife emigrated in 1872 from Bernsburg to Lansing/Michigan with then already born 5 children:

2.Katharina (Kate), *06 jul 1859 married w/ Otto Schreiber, had 1 son Henry Richard jun. who was CEO of the medical dept. of Georgetown University/Washington , 1 son Frederick, M.D. at University of Washington, Ear, Nose and Throat dept. , 1 son Herman in Lansing, 1 daughter Elizabeth, married w/ Henry J. Schneider, Washington/D.C and 1 daughter Emma, married w/ Walter Weidman, Woodbury/NJ
3.Heinrich Richard, *31 dec 1865 married w/ Florence Le(u?)dwig, had 1 son Johann Theodor, known as John Herrmann, bookwriter and close friend of Ernest Hemingway, John died in spring 1959 in Mexico, buried at Mount Hope Cemetery in Lansing, left his wife and 1 son, born in 1952,
1 daughter Katharina Dorothea married with Donald F. Teel, had 1 son Erick, married with Laura Huffman (?), they had 1 infant Evie which died 22.Jul 1907, maybe more children ?

4.Christian, *02 Jul 1868 married w/ Agnes Bauch, had 1 son Christian jun.,M.D.(since 1955 leader of a part of the Medical Center of UCLA, lived in Santa Monica/Cal., born 25 Jan 1921) , Christian and Heinrich Richard (Henry) led the John T. Herrmann's Sons Taylors Co. together after the retirement of their father, Christian also was director of the Citizens Telephone Company , leading member of the Rotary Club, member of the Crippled Children Commitee, in the boards of directors of Community Cooperation Industries, Community Hotel Co., Union Building and Loan Co.and the Central Trust Co., also treasurer of the Water and Electric Light Commissioners and the Ingham County Chapter of the Red Cross , leader of the Lansing YMCA-office , superintendent of the sunday school of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and president of the fellowship board of the college Lutheran Student Church , he died 08 03 1949, buried by Estes-Leadly Funural at Evergreen Cemetery, Lansing
5.Marie, *02 Jul 1868 , unmarried , was a twin sister of Christian, lived in Washington,D.C., died in August 1948, buried also at the Mount Hope cemetery in Lansing
6. the youngest son Karl Friedrich (" Charles F.") was born 02 Jun 1876 in Lansing, married with Mina Caroline Cook, last adress:Metropolitan Bank Building 612 Second Ave.,Minneapolis, had 1 son Charles F. jr. and 1 daughter Alice Katherine in Minneapolis , he died 1933 in Minneapolis
7.+8. there were two more children, I don't know anything about
John T. Herrmann founded the "John T. Herrmann's Sons Taylors" in 1878 in Lansing, 218 North Washington Ave. and built His House at 520 North Capitol Avenue, now on the campus of Lansing Community College
