Hi.  Were there any Civil War Prison Camps in Norfolk, Virginia.?  In my distant cousin's Civil War pension, it states the he was confined at hard labor prison Norfolk Virginia.  Where could I find more information?  Mary Beth

Have you tried Ancestry.com? They have several Civil War entries. Also try the Library of Virginia.
There was the Libby Prison in Richmond Va.

Also Danville Prison Va

These are just a few I found off hand.
Hi Mary Beth,

I have info that my GGG Grandfather was captured on 2 June 1884, Bermuda Hundred, VA and died (they killed him according to my cousin) 5 Sep 1864, Petersburg, VA. He was with the 7th Infantry from Conn. I don't know of and prison camps yet myself.
