Adoptoin of all children by second husband

I have entered the birth names on the family page but am concerned that a less than "professional"

searcher will miss an entry in the "AKA" file for the adopted names of the children as used in later

life. Also in the family pages of the grown up children it seems there should be a way to easily see

that the person could be known by either of the two surnames. ie. would it be in order to enter

both with one of them in parens? and if so which one? :-) Or some other ideas. This is the first time

I have encountered the problem. Thanks for any input.

Hi lewis

I adopted four children from my wife's first marriage. I have my wife's first family with her first husband and children. Then I have them in our family with our two children and my surname. On each adopted child's individual information page I show their adoption date. This works for me.

Thanks. Now in the INDEX of names do both surnames show up for an adopted child? If they do then when

clicking the "family" tab with either surname highlighted does it open with the appropriate family page?
