Hi Carol,
For Sullivans and Crostons look into the West Cork section of Ireland, in the area of Roaring Waters Bay. There were many Sullivans and Crostons living near Baltimore and Skibbereen . Crostons married into the Gosnell family. Many of these families migrated to Canada and to the Boston areas.

This thread interests me a lot. Our GRAHAM's were in County Cork (perhaps Bandon) mid 1700's and went into Ontario Canada. This has been a brick wall for me and would be interested in any sort of clues, information etc. about other Graham's who may have followed a similar pattern.

Hi Diane,
I'm not sure where my James Graham came from, there's a possibility it could have been from County Cork. He married Annie Croston, in Boston, Massachusetts and she was supposedly from County Cork as well.

My great grandmother Anne Croston married first a James Graham, then a Jeremiah Sullivan in Boston, MA. I know she is from County Cork, but not sure where. She met James Graham in the Boston, MA and married there.
I have no idea where he came from either. He might have come from County Cork also. I think they both came to the United States around 1869-1870. She was born in around 1850 and he was born around 1851. Thank you for your reply.

I have got MOONEY & McGRATH in my family tree. I have two MOONEY families. One is from Dublin, Ireland and the other is from Ballycastle, Antrim, Ireland. The McGRATH's are related to the RENNIE'S and are from DERVOCK, ANTRIM.
My MOONEY's and McGRATH's are connected to my WOODSIDE's.

Hello Patricia, I am looking for Mooney's in Dublin, Ireland, My James Mooney, arrived in 1819 as a convict and spent his time in Hobart and then Victoria. Does that fit in with your lot. Mary

I would be most interested in any information you might receive on the O'Dea family line as my son's grandmother's family is part of that family line.  It should be noted that the O'Dea name is also synonymous for Day, Die, Dye, Dyer as family names were often slightly or greatly changed on a variation of the O'Dea name.  There are some genealogical "maps" that list the family names in the counties where they originated from.

 

I would need to locate the website link but it will take some time.  Making a to-do note to get it together for everyone's use. Best I can recall is that it is on one of the Irish Genealogy sites I managed to get access to.  So hang tight for my reply on the link and I will have it to you all within a day or two.  These maps helped me define the areas that I needed to look in for specific ancestors.
