Tell us more about story pages on Footnote.com.
My subscription on Ancestry.com is running out soon; I'm looking for alternatives.
Does Footnote have enough stuff to replace Ancestry.com?
I have been able to create the story pages for my wife, Sandra's, and my families. There are tons of space for pictures, stories, comments, links, and connections/relations to other family members and ancestors.
Footnote is great but it can't replace Ancestry. Think of it as an extra. It has records that Ancestry doesn't have such as naturalization records, and it is really great for interactive pages such as Kenneth mentioned.
My dissatisfaction with both sites is that only members can view what is entered. So my relatives cannot view and respond to what I have entered without paying for a membership. Plus, as I understand it, I would have to continue my membership in order to maintain access to my work.
