Dear Vargen,
I have several ancestors from Varmlands, Sweden. from about 1736 to 1839.
Elisabeth (Lisa) Edqvist was born 14 Dec. 1836 in Sweden. She left her husband, Erik Johan Stenqvist, and emigrated to the United States, arriving at New York City in Jan. of 1980. After a few years, she, her son, and two daughters settled in Chicago. The son changed his name from Carl Johan Stenqvist to Charles J. Stonequist. Wilhelmina (Mina) married Nels Sandberg. Erika Marie married (1st) Samuel Samuelson, and (2nd) Erik Gustav Dahlberg. Elisabeth died 4 Sept. 1911 in Covert, Van Buren Co., Michigan.
I have a few suggestions:
I hope these are helpful.

My previous posting to you was taken from Emibas, a Swedish Immigration database. From here you can go back rather easily. I see though you want to find descendants of them. Well you will note that there is a listing to contact the Swedish Emigrant Register in Karlstad. I would recommend, this usually means they have additional information on these people. Could be letters of someone else lookng for the family? or other researchers trying to connect. Or it could be not much in additional data, but its a start.
This is their website, they are quite helpful especially for Varmland.
Janet, I already have that information you've given me.
I have no clue of where to look for them in the US nor what kind of sites. In another immigration database is said that the brother went to Ashland, Wisconsin. But I don't know where to look to find him in any censuses or what so ever.
Gwynn, your links might have been helpful if I was looking for them in Sweden. But I'm not. Thank you anyway :)
As for finding my grandmothers mothers siblings (Alfred and Hilma) I already have all the information from before they left Sweden. I live in Sweden, so it's no problem finding them in the Swedish records. I only have a problem with finding them in the US, I don't know which records to look at. This is irritating me. It's just like the first time one started with family research. I don't find a f-ing thing. It's the same with a few ancestors that came from Norway. I can't find them in any records at all. But that doesn't belong here.
The point is I don't know where to look for Alfred and Hilma after they arraived to the US. That's where I hit a brick wall.

I did find an Alfred Andersson in 1905 living in Ashland City in the Wisconsin State Census who appears to be the correct age. I would suggest that you start with Familysearch.org and limit your search to the places where you know they have lived. Do you have any idea who Hilma married, or who Alfred married?
The Alfred you found isn't "my" Alfred. Both him and his parents where born in Sweden, and so were all their ancestors. But I'll try familysearch, although I don't trust that site (don't know why though).
For what I know both Alfred and Hilma left Sweden alone with no husband or wife. I have no clue if they married or with whom they married.
