My grandfather Aloysius "Ollie" Schneider's brother, John Schneider married in 1889 Alice Marie Endiott (b. 1868 Meeker, OH - d. 1940 Marion, OH.) John and Ollie were sons of Joseph Peter & Dorothea "Dora" (Diehl) Schneider and grandsons of Joseph & Margaretha "Margaret" (Fischer) Schneider. The family owned an Inn & Tavern in Columbus, Franklin Co., Ohio.
Alice Marie Endicott was the daughter of John B (1833-1915) & Sarah (Berridge) Endicott. John B. was the son of John Jacob (1805 PA - ?) & Ann (Horsfall) Endicott. John Jacob was the son of Captain John Endicott (1777-1805). My notes say: "John Endecott (1777-1805) was the Captain of his own ship when he was lost at sea in the Delaware Capes near Philadelphia. [off Cape Henlopen area probably.] His widow, the former Anna Hugg (1786-1854), was the daughter of Jacob and Catherin (Bright) Hugg. She bore him one son, John Jacob Endecott (1805-1872)."
Alice Marie (Endicott) & John Schneider had 5 children: Charles William "Charlie" (1891), Edward Joseph "Ed" (1893, George Aloysius "Ollie" (897, LeRoy Franklin (1901) and Margaret D. "Peg" (1908). I have a photo of Alice Marie Endicott.

Fascinating! I follow the Endicott line for about 5 generations after John Endecott before it veers off into the Dodges in our family. I am the 11th generation since John Endecott. I know the early history well, thanks to my grandmother. We, of course, have one of the books on him. I know we are tied into the Putnams by marriage, as well as the Dodges. I am well aware of what his part in the Massachusetts Bay Colony was, as well as the beginnings of education in America. Unfortunately, he was also at the beginnings of the witch trials. Later, by marriage, we are also possibly related to Lord Chamberlain (perhaps the witch trials caught up with us).
Thank you for responding to my query. If you would like any of the early history, let me know.
