It would be interesting to see how many from this haplogroup will join this group.
My husbands mtdna results from haplogroup C1b2a are:
HVR1-16223T, 16298C,16325C, 16327T, 16519C
HVR2 - 73G,249-, 290-,291-,315.1C, 489C,493G,522-, 523-

He has quite a few matches from FTDNA for the HVR1 & HVR2 and three who match his full sequence results. Two from Puerto Rico and one from Venezuela.

So for the future members of this group, how many of you were assigned to haplogroup C1b2a?

Hello John,

You have an extra mutation, that is why you don't match with the other C1b2a members.

extra mutation: 9165c

the others do not have that particular mutation.

Someone in your maternal lineage mutation changed compared to the other members of that group.

You have all the same mutations as all the others except for that extra one.

Strange indeed.

So then I'm one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  And, I have super powers I haven't discovered yet just waiting to bloom, right?  :O)  I submitted my results to GenBank.  It's schedualed to be published tommorow, and will be available a few days later as GenBank accession number JN546585.  There are 13 other C1b2a submissions on GenBank.  They are DQ282447, DQ282448, DQ282449, DQ282450, DQ282451, DQ282452, DQ282453, DQ282454, DQ282455, DQ282456, DQ282457, DQ282458.2, GQ397486.  None are FTDNA except for GQ397486.  I don't match any of them either.  Also Ian Logan, who helped me prepare my submission has us all up on his web page http://www.ianlogan.co.uk/sequences_by_group/c1b_genbank_sequences.htm for easy comparison.  Only two of the others and me have extra mutations, but not at the same places.

Eddie's and my father's should be listed, but I can't remember their submission data.

Yes, Ian helped us too.

So there should be two others listed as C1b2a from FTDNA, it should be these two from Puerto Rico:

26. GQ397486(Puerto Rico) FTDNA
27. JN546585(Puerto Rico) FTDNA
Ruth, if you click on these images it enlarges them.  I got these images by doing a blast on GQ397486, and JN546585 and generating a tree showing where we are located on the tree compared to other C1 haplotypes.  Our group C1b2a is near the bottom, but the tree is so large you can barely read the identification.  So I enlarged just our section.  This is the second image.  I added the green line to trace the progression, and highlighted our positions.  Notice mine is one of the three which is different from the rest, and thus placed a little more to the right than the others.  GenBank is a fun site.  You can do all kinds of neat things with things with the data.  :O)

Yes, there are many of us in that particular group. That maternal Eve was a strong one from the looks of it. :))

Too bad I can't go that far in my genealogy to find out who she was. :))
