My g. grandfather states he was born in Alabama in 1831. I can find no record. He had a twin brother. They were orphaned. One story is their father got into an argument with a tenant and was killed. Don't know anything about their mother except Marcus (my g.grandfather) said he was related to General Lafayette. There were several cholera plagues in Alabama early 1830's so I'm thinking their parents died in one.

I have just learned My g. grandfather and his brother were probably born in Decatur, Morgan County Alabama.
