I'm trying to find if my Hale line is related to the Nicholas Hale/Haile line. I do relate through my father's mother (my grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Cooper), but I'm hoping that someone can help me discover my gg grandfather's parents, siblings, place of birth, etc.

My Hale line goes as follows:

Me - John Hale

My father -  John J Hale – born 16 Jul 1927 in Inez, Martin Co., Kentucky; died 23 Dec, 1986, Stouder Memorial Hospital, Troy, Ohio.

My grandfather -  John H. Hale - born 23 Jan 1889 in Salyersville, Magoffin Co., Kentucky.   Death: 31 JAN 1955 Paintsville, Johnson County, Kentucky. Burial: 2 Feb 1955. Lakevillecaptain Powers Cem, Magoffin County, Kentucky.  He married  Mary Elizabeth Cooper.

My great grandfather -  John Hale, born 10 Aug, 1853 in Perry County,  Kentucky.  He married first Nancy Trusty - born Nov 27 1857 in Morgan County, Kentucky. She is the daughter of Daniel Trusty and Leaner Eldridge; and second marriage to Margaret Trusty.

My great great grandfather -   John Hale - born 1800-1810 in one of these Virginia counties: Grayson, Washington, or Wythe. According to the Wyhte County Historical Society no Hale families were living in Wythe county during the time John Hale would have been born in the county.  They did say that several male children were born in Grayson county that matched the birth time period for John Hale. According to a document that John Hale’s son Willam (born about 1834 in Russell county, VA provided in his Guion Miller Roll application, William stated that his father was born 1808 near Avington, VA. I could not find Avington, VA, but I did find Abingdon, Washington county, VA. William also stated in this document that his father was half Cherokee.John  Hale married Sarah Fawbush - born 1822 in Sullivan, Tennessee.

I have no info on who my great great grandfather’s parents were. I ‘m trying to find out this info to further my research on my Hale surname. Is it possible that my  great great grandfather is aloa related the Nicholas Hale/Haile (born 1628 in Kent England and died 1668 in Tidewater, VA) line?

Thanks for any help.
