The five step system is loaded with helpful information! I still have two ships to find and will be following your advice. I did have a slightly different problem for a few years. I knew the name of the ship that my grandparents were on when they left Iceland for Canada in 1887. I also knew that they had landed in Quebec. What I didn't know was that this was sort of a shuttle vessel that first took them to Scotland, where they had to go overland to a different port and transfer to a ship from the Allen line. After arriving in Canada they settled in North Dakota for a number of years. Eventually I found the name of the second ship.
