James Whitfield Attaway 1842-1907

I'm at a wall with the Attaway line that married into our Puckett line in Georgia. I've found lots of info about James Whitfield Attaway (1842-1907), but nothing about his parents, except that he was supposedly born in SC. Any hints, anyone? I sure would appreciate a bit of help. Thanks
