Hi Everyone,
Bear with me coz I am new to all this chat rooming!!!
I am researching my family tree in the UK, Only the direct line on male side. Got back to Gt.Gt.Gt.Gt Grandad Edward Redman b.1740 Horsham, West Sussex. His son also Edward b.1763 married Hannah Brockhurst b 1795 (they had 4 children one was George B.1800 my Gt.Gt. Grandfather). Hannah died 1802 and Edward re-married in 1804 a Jane Greenfield they had 7 children (Josias b.1805, Edward b. 1807, Mary b.1808, David b.1809, Jesse b.1811, Martha b. 1815 and Elisha b.1816).
In 1820 they emigrated to the States with some of the children, don't know from where or to where. I am trying to find out where they settled, can anyone out there help me?
Edward and Hannah were Baptists.
Through another site I found an Edward Redman from UK who died in Indiana (Posey?) 1831 may or may not be him.
From George everything is easy he settled in Arundel, West Sussex where the Redmans have been ever since. I have in my possession many documents etc handed down over the years starting with his marriage certificate from 1828.
I have probably gone on too long but wind me up on the family and I could go on for hours.
Look forward to any input especially from the States.
Jane

Jane,
My 4th great grandfather was Edward Redman, who was born in England and who lived in Posey County, Indiana. Our family legend says that his son, Edward was also married to a Mary Moran. I have not found proof of this, however. Edward's son, Josias (known as Jose in the states) purchased land in Posey County in 1820. I have the land certificate.I would love to share information. -Cheri

I have lots of information. Edward jnr died 1831, snr 1833.
