I descend from Robert "Robin" White, who was born about 1755 either in South Carolina
or in England, as the old family stories said. He was in Camden District, later Kershaw Co., SC,
after the Revolution, where he married Mary Hux and was on the 1800 Census there.
He migrated in 1810 with his family to Buffalo Creek in Wilkinson Co. in southwest Mississippi.
Mary Hux White died before 1818, when he remarried the widow Lydia Cassels Bolen.
He had 12 children by his first marriage, and we descend from his son Benjamin White
who married Fredonia Smith. He had a son and a daughter by his second wife.
He had died before April 1829.

According to family documents he was shanghied in England during the Revoluntary War. Brought to Charleston SC where he fought and was wounded in Battle of Kings Mountain. He hid in a hollow gum log for days. Was found by Hux family and joined to fight England. Later married Hux Daughter Mary. Migrated to South west MS in 1810. Had pass to get throught Indian territory. Settled on Buffalo Creek and built a nice home. I have pictures of his grave site. His daughter from second marriage to Polly married Hiram McGraw.
