I recently found some info on Ancestry that may shed some light on the problem. I came across a record in Gothenberg passenger lists1869-1951   Carolina Bergstrom   Laxarby, age 25  departure 1882  for Minneapolis   ship Romeo.  this might be the person as I was showing Carolina born about 1856. Some of my male ancestors of William Olson were born and died in Laxarby ,also my mito matches ( female ) ancestors were born in Laxarby. I also think my grandfather was in the 1880 census in Minneapolis in 1883 he married Carolina in Colorado  There is also a record of Josephine Bergstrom From Lidkoping  born abt 1866  coming to New York   28 July of 1882    Family search doesnt have any comparable   info records that I can check  I am wondering if there is any info in the Sweden Household  examination records from 1866- 1880      thanks       Mike Schummer

Yes, there are Sweden Household  examination records from 1866- 1880, for a lot of parish. If we want to check just for Laxarby or Lidköping it would be easy. But, do we know that Carolina and / or Josephine was born there?
We also have emigrations records, " Emibas" and "Emigranten"  for the most of the emigrants. You need to have name and date of bith and also, to be sure to get the right person, also have his/hers place of birth. I do not know if you are familiar with "Arkiv Digital" http://www.arkivdigital.net/ They have scanned incredible amount of church books. You can subscribe for a month if you want...

I have seen you have a family tree on Ancestry. The info you have there, is it the info you are sure of..? I mean, the date of their birth and date of marriage? The parents name : Leonard and Josephine, have you seen that info for both Caroline and Josephine?

Hi Yvonne, Were you able to see  the attachments For Gothenberg Passenger lists?   they are appearing on my screen by a reply of 21 hrs ago. They showed a Carolina & Josefina emigrating in 1882 but not together  on the I have a  death certif. from colorado that shows  Josepines father was leonard Bergstrom & Mother was alsoJosephine  Josephine was born 14 Dec 1867 the informant was her Husband William Olson. The only thing I have on Caroline   ( Lena) is she appears in !885 Census age 29 with william 30 & daughter Jenny 1 . I also have Colorado Marriage licence showing Lena married to William in 1883 and a state record For Caroline showing she died 30 Dec. 1887 The cemetery record shows she was 31 in 1887. this would make her born abt 1856 and would agree with the Gothenburg record. 1882 for immigration for Caroline would be about right since she was married in Colorado in 1883 But I thought Josephine would be later after her sister died in 1887 Josephine married in 1888.1900 Census shows Josephine immigrated in 1887 but you cant depend on that. .Most of the info in Ancestry should be accurate . i dont like to put anything in without documentation... Thanks MIke Schummer

Hi, Yes I was able to see it. I have also been trying to find anything more in the Swedish sources.  If you would like to give me you email address,  then i can send you the info I have so you can take a look.

Yvonne,  My email address is mschummer@cfl.rr.com   Also my Mtdna match seems to think our connection would be in Laxarby beyond any records either of us have.   Thank you very much  Mike Schummer.
