being in the relatively rare mtdna K1a1b1b group, I'm especially interested in finding other K1a1b1b (not K1a1b1a!) with southern ancestry within the last 6-8 generations. esp. Setzer, Wheatley, Mattingly, Cain, Warman since the rareness of the haplotype would make it more relevant in the genealogical time frame.

My southern k1a1b1b maternal line from most recent to oldest is as follows: Coghlan-Syms-Potts-Money-Connell-Steele-Chandler-Fitzpatrick (deadends in SC in the 1700s).

My maternal k1a1b1b line (O'Brien, Pfluger, Aims, Gant, Hulse, Estelle) goes back to 1822 in Monmouth, New Jersey. It could possible extend to the South prior to that.

Thanks,

Deb

I am a K1a1b1b as well.  My oldest known maternal ancestor was Ann Hansley born abt. 1770 in New Castle County Delaware.
