Thank you for replying to my request.  My mother and father in law were given paintings by  his wife for wedding gift in 1924.  My mother in law's father Gruiters  married Catherine Hubregtse.  do you know when and Where Adriane died.  I know they were in Indonesia and think he may have died there. Thank you again

In the local Art Society will be held on 26 March as an exhibition for ten days of paintings, drawings and etchings of the famous painter Mrs. Hubregtse-Lanzing.

This will be her last exhibition in Batavia. Mrs. Hubregtse will return to the Netherlands by the end of this year.

With the  Princess Juliana  the gifted painter Ms.. Hubregtse-Lanzing left the Netherlands East Indies.  Mrs. Hubregtse-Lanzing goes to Switzerland and then via Paris, where she herself to her painting studies hopes to Wyden, to The Hague, where she will live her permanently settle.

It is not without regret that the Indian society is passing this kunstenaresse. Her hand is indeed so many memorable performances coming cloth with Indian landscape. She gave this landscape as few see it as few people apparently view it: fresh and daring, original and happy color. This departure is a loss. (Loc).

thank you for all the information you sent.  Very much appreciated.  I have all info on my husbands Guit family and the Gruiters family but not actual documents so thanks for that.  I have been trying to find where Adriaan Hubregtse is connected to my mother in laws step mother Catharine Hubregtse who married Leendert Gruiters. 

I am very fortunate to have 3 paintings done by Henriette Rosina Lanzing.  Our family thinks they may have been wedding gifts to Karl and Helena Guit as they are dated 1923 and signed,  they year Karl and Helena married.  2 are of the last supper and one a still life painted above a mirror.  my email is pguit@execulink. if you wish to email me direct.  Thank you again and would appreciate any further info you have on the family.
