Veronica; I am new to all this too! By placing it under discussion perhaps someone else may be able to help.

I am afraid I don't have any more information on Charlotte Boxall.
At the marriage in 1814 the witnesses were Thomas and Elizabeth Veness. I believe these to be Aaron's brother and his wife. Ewell was the home of Thomas and Elizabeth. Thomas Veness was a maltster.
Aaron was born in 1785 at Woolbeding, Sussex the youngest son of Richard and Mary 'VENUS'.
Neither Aaron or Charlotte found on the 1841 Census.
Aaron alive in 1824 - beneficiary of mother's Will. (Mary Veness - widow of Cobham). Also witness of the Will of brother, John Veness of Farnhurst - 1824.
Have not come across any family for this couple.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ann

I have an indirect BOXALL in my Lemon tree. Jane BOXALL ch Sep 5, 1852 Bramley m. Richard LEMMON (ch Nov 7, 1847 Bramley) May 5, 1877 Hambledon. They subsequently moved to Battersea. If this links in with the Boxall researchers I can provide more details.

Hi Paul;
I'm sorry but you have the wrong Jane BOXALL for this marriage.

The 1891 Census states Jane bc 1854 Haslemere, Sry. not Bramley, Sry.

These are the correct details:
Jane BOXALL baptized 3 Apr 1853 d/o John BOXALL and Sarah (LUFF); she is the third child of 12.

In 1881 Jane and Richard are at 29 Sheepcote Lane, Battersea
In 1901 they are at 2A Lothier Street, Battersea.

Thank you for the date of their marriage I only had the GRO index information.
Before Jane's marriage to Richard she had a son Samuel William John BOXALL b. 19 Dec 1873 in Haslemere.
In 1881 he is living with Samuel OAKFORD listed as a nephew. Samuel m. 3 Jun 1902 Emma Jane Thatcher in Ifield, Ssx.

If you would like further details please let me know.
Kindest regards
Ronnie
I've searched everything I can think of to find deaths for either Aaron or Charlotte so giving us an idea as to where they were living. This may of led us to some of their possible children. My next move was to check the locations that we know about for a possible Charlotte BOXALL that may fit. There is no Charlotte in Cobham or Ewell or the surrounding area born between 1780 and 1793. Next I checked Fernhurst, Aaron may of visited his brother Thomas and met Charlotte there, but this search came up empty. Then I went back to Woolbeding, not knowing when the VENUS family moved from there to Surrey I did come up with a possibility; Charlotte BOXALL baptized 6 Apr 1783 d/o Edward BOXALL and Jane GREENFIELD. This Charlotte was the fourth child of five, her siblings were Jane, Sarah, David and Hannah. Hannah was born in Tillington so the family could have moved, this could rule her out for us.
I have a few other Charlottes who are not married off: one in Petworth bc 1782; another in Kirdford bc 1792; another in Lurgashall bc 1795; another in Sutton, Ssx bc 1789. That is it I have no other Charlotte's born within that time period that would fit.

Was there any other clues in the will? Do you know when the mother moved to Cobham as I found seven children for her all born in Woolbeding between 1764 and 1785.

Sorry Ann I have drawn a blank on this one. Maybe someone else will have some idea which Charlotte this could be. If you do find some more clues please add them here.

Kindest regards
Ronnie
I have found them! On 1841 indexed as 'Caron Vaness' living in St Marylebone. 56 Cooper N
Charlotte 46 N

1851 St Marylebone - indexed as 'Geness'.
Aaron Veness 55 b Sussex
Charlotte Veness 55 b do Lurgashall

I thought it likely that they had known each other in Sussex. Lurgashall quite close to Woolbeding.

I think I have found Aaron's death 1854 Marylebone. Haven't found Charlotte.
Doesn't look as though they had any family.

Kind regards,
Ann
Thank you for the details on the census finds. Quite often we have to think outside the box trying to find individuals on the Census. These are great finds because the 1851 Census answers the question; where was Charlotte born?

So Charlotte BOXALL baptized 6 Jul 1795 Lurgashall, Ssx, d/o Richard BOXALL and Ann MACKRELL she is the last child of ten for this couple.
Richard BOXALL bc 1739 m. Ann MACKELL bc 1752; 26 Dec 1773 Lurgashall, Ssx. They both are buried in Lurgashall Richard 1825 and Ann 1832.
I have not managed to go any further back for this BOXALL line. If you would like further details of Richard and Ann's children please let me know.
Thank you for solving which Charlotte was the one who married Aaron. .

Kindest regards
Ronnie
