I just joined this group, as I research both Dutch and English records in the Hudson Valley and surrounding areas. Some of the best resources here are the local genealogical societies and town and county archives, most of which will use their resources to answer queries via e-mail.

Looking for parents of Perry Green Tripp born in 1815, 1818/19.  Birthplace listed as Galen, Seneca County and Smyrna, Chenango County on several records.  Smyrna 1820 Census lists a Job Tripp, no children.  1820 Galen Census lists a Benjamin Tripp with a son (No name given for Son).  I have 16 sources that show that Perry Green Tripp could be the son of Benjamin Tripp and nothing to exclude him.  Looking for additional verification.  Thank you for all that you do!  Janet

My western NY lines are:
1. Fergusons who were in Beekman, Dutchess Co during the Revolution, moved to Broadalbin, Montgomery Co by 1810, to Ohio, Herkimer Co by 1825. Some Fergusons stayed in that area, but my branch moved on in the late 1840s to Sanilac and Huron Counties in Michigan.
2. Waterburys and Earls who originated in CT, but, with some stops along the way, ended up in Andes, Delaware Co. in the early 1800s. Talmage Waterbury, son of Daniel of Andes, moved to Huron Co., Ohio in the early 1830s, returned to Schoharie abt 1832 after the death of his wife, Rachel Earl, married Elizabeth Devotion in Schoharie, and moved to MI in the 1840s. He is buried at Port Sanilac, Sanilac, Co., MI. Talmage was a Congregational minister.

Re Carol Denehy's comment of Aug 22, 2009:
Have you tried looking for a revolutionary war pension application for the Clement who was in the Dutchess Co. militia? These applications sometimes include other family information and you might find a link that lets you trace your known ancestors to the revolutionary war patriot. Heritage Quest, if you have access to it, has all the pension applications online. Otherwise, you would need to find a library that has the microfilms (Library of Michigan in Lansing, for example) or use the National Archives.

Very interested in / collect all HAGAMAN / HAGEMAN / HAGERMAN / HEGEMAN, etc. families descended from the Dutch Adrian HAGAMAN who settled in New Amsterdam. Thanks, Jim

I'm looking for the VELZY/VELZIE family of New York. I don't really know what part of New York, though. Hoping someone out there might recognize this surname. She married into the MOSIER/MOSHER family (of MA).

This my line: Govert > Tunis > James> John who married Martha.
James and Isaac were brother. I would be glad to share on what I have. On Isaac's family all I have is a list of children and some dates.
