Thimm Family
Hello,
I am looking for information on my husband's family. The information that we have is as follows:
My husband's father, uncle and grandparents come over to the U.S. from Lubeck, Germany in the 1950's.
My husband's great-grandmother's name was Marie Thimm. She had his grandfather out of wedlock, not sure who the father was. She later had a man named Ruge, and had 2 more sons. His grandfather's name was Robert A. Thimm, born in 1920.
Any information that anyone might find would be great. I can find no information on Marie Thimm. My husband's grandfather since passed, and his grandmother doesn't remember much about her.

Where did the Thimm family live in the US after they arrived? When did Robert die? I see 2 Robert Thimms on the Social Security Index, one who died in Texas in 2008, one who was in NJ and died in 1995. I also see a Robert Thimm who arrived in the US in 1952, he was 32, with Lotte Thimm age 30, and a few children. Let me know if you have other info and I'll see what I can find.

Hi Kate,
They settled in NJ. Robert died in 1995, and that is the Robert who arrived in 1952. His wife's name is Lotte/Lottie. We know that there is a Thimm clan in Wisconsin, and the one in Texas. To our knowledge, neither are related to my husband's family.
