I am reaching out for you as I am sure we are related to each other. Your grandmother Antje Janje, was a full cousin of my grandmother Anna Namminga. Her mothers' name was Jantje Sieds Siedsma.
I would love to connect with you as I am trying to write a book about my great grandmother, and so also about your great grandfather Jentje Sieds Siedsma, who came to NY for the first time presumably around 1880. He frequently visited the Netherlands, where his wife still lived. My great grandmother visited him in 1894, for a very special reason. She came to take her son Jacob back to the Netherlands, as he had been taken by his uncle Jentje to the USA in January 1894, expecting that both his parents would follow soon. But in the end they did not want to leave Friesland definitively.
Strange en special story about a brave woman, doing everything to get het son back.
She sailed on May 16th 1894, with the Spaarndam. Kind regards, Anna Trijntje de Boer
