This comment is in response to Christina Tracy about North Carolina families. I've spent the past forty years researching 18th-century families traveling into and settling North Carolina before the American Revolutionary War. The surnames you mentioned in your comment are recognized among my files. I have data on the following: King, Lynch, Givens, Henley and Richardson. Millions of families can trace their lineage to North Carolina simply because so many migrated south from the middle and northern colonies during the mid-18th-century.

I have been delving into my North Carolina ancestors this year. These folks go back to colonial times so it is tough work but very rewarding! Yesterday a moderator from a North Carolina Genealogy Facebook group sent me a message asking, "Are you just researching your own family tree?" I didn't respond right away and when I went to the group today I had been removed and blocked! I guess she doesn't understand that about half of my 64 great grandparents are from the Carolinas and maybe assumed I was doing the research for clients? IDK. The families I'm starting in on this fall (without the help of that particular Facebook group) are:

Henley from Randolph County
Steed from Randolph County
King from Buncombe County
Lynch from Buncombe and Rutherford Counties
Richardson from Rutherford County
Kings from Henderson County
Rains from Randolph County
Givens from Union County

Is anyone else researching in those counties? These county names don't reflect the changing boundaries over the years, I still need to figure out exactly where they lived.

I'm researching Solomon Taylor birth Year 1851-1852 and his parents , sibling names...... looking for Mary Dickens Fenner 1887 looking for her Husband John Fenner parents and sibling Enfield halifax Co Nc

I am researching the ELLIOTT's in Perquiman's County, NC.  My family line starts with Bennet ELLIOTT b. abt 1573, in England and progresses down to Margaret (Margrett) ELLIOTT b. 1801, Perquiman's County, NC, d. 1868, Portsmouth, Va.    Margaret was the daughter of Dempsey (Demcy) ELLIOTT b.abt 1755, Perquiman's County, NC and Rachel SMITH  b. abt. 1759, Perquiman's County, NC.  Rachel was the daughter of Samuel SMITH b. 1730 Perquiman's County and Leah JORDAN b. 1730 Perquimans County.  I don't have date/place of Rachel's death.  Any additional info on these individuals would be appreciated.  Thanks. Another brick wall is in Stanly County...parents of Aaron N. ROGERS.  Found in the census for Stanly (as well as my 2nd great-grandfather Ruben Capers ROGERS) but am unable to fund his father's father or mother. Ruben's mother was Nancy UPCHURCH and plenty on her is available.  Thanks for any help!

I am still trying to break thru my major LEE brick wall.  I am trying to find the parents of Rachel and Sara(h) LEE.  Rachel married John YORK in 1805 Randolph County (she was roughly 12 years old????) and Sara(h) married a Hillery SCOTT.  Their mother was named Leucreacy ____ LEE but unable to find a marriage for her (don't know her maiden name) or death/will for a husband for her.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Most of the Bladen research I have done is much earlier than 1870-1900, so I am not offhand familiar with the records that late.

Can anyone share their knowledge of Bladen County? Specifically, are there many records left between 1870 - 1900?  I know that there was a fire of some sort. Maybe two?  I've been told that many records were lost.  And as with  many of you, I'm at a brick wall currently.  Thanks in advance!
