Bryant's in South Carolina--
I'm researching the Bryant line in South Carolina--
William Henry Bryant was born in South Carolina in 1785--I have found several listings a John Briant as father b. abt 1730 in South Carolina and listing Charity Copeland as his wife.
I also saw another listing showing Jane Thornton as wife of John Briant--
I also saw--William Henry Bryant b. 1785--SC
Rebecca Bryant b. 1786--SC
Mary Bryant b. 1790--SC
John Bryant b. 1795--SC
i would like to find proof that John and Charity were the parents of these brothers and sisters of Wm Henry--or that John and Jane Thorton were the parents--
Wm Henry moved from SC to Whitley County, Ky--married Ann Heaton Apr 27, 1823 in Ky..from here they had 10 children----I have all the line coming forward from Wm Henry--
I also have a copy of a will from John Bryant dated Apr 6, 1805...
is anyone researching this line? would appreciate any help I can get..

I'm attempting to post a comment to the late Ruth Kramer's post of July 17, 2010 regarding the family line of William Bryant (b. 1785 SC) husband of Ann(a) (H)Eaton.

So far, there is no proof that William's middle name was Henry, although he has often been called that online.
Jane Thornton is not related to this line. She was married to a different Jonathan Bryan(t) who was not related to William's family.
Court records show that William's parents were John Bryant Sr. and his wife, Charity. John Bryant's date of birth is not really known. Census records show that he was born sometime before 1756. Charity's maiden name is long rumored to have been Copeland. -
