Have you participated in the Drake DNA Project yet? Only males with the surname of Drake can submit a sample.

Also,do you know about the Drake Mail List? It's free also on Rootsweb. To join write Drake@Rootsweb.com & put Subscribe in the Subject line. There several NY. Drake researchers on the list.Who exactly are you looking for now? I'm a NJ. Drake though. Good Luck!

Hi, Greg,
I am looking for cousins who are descendants of Charles Drake and Ruth North Drake, who lived and died in Syracuse NY. I have a family photo in which Ruth appears but I don't know which woman she is. In the photo is her father, John North and all the siblings. (I'd love a photo of Ruth-will share the family photo!) Yes, I'm a descendant of the Norths!
Here's what I know about them.
1. CHARLES B. DRAKE was born 1858, and died 1933. He married RUTH HANNA NORTH b. 1931, daughter of JOHN NORTH and MARY SPENCER. She was born 21 Nov 1855 in Clarence St., Old Kent Rd., London, England, and died 1937 in Syracuse, NY, USA.

More About CHARLES B. DRAKE:
Burial: 03 Feb 1933, NY, Onon.Co., Syracuse, Myrtle Hill Cem.

Notes for RUTH HANNA NORTH:
Diltz Berry left a note that she & her husband lived on Valley Drive in Syracuse, NY.

More About RUTH HANNA NORTH:
Burial: 30 Jan 1937, NY, Onon.Co., Syracuse, Myrtle Hill Cem.

Looking forward to finding my Clark cousins!

Hi Greg!

Can you be more specific as to who you are looking for. I do a lot of research on the Drake surname in New York and it includes all the various Drake lines there. I need names, locations and dates to help you.

Susan in KS
I'm just beginning my research - found this site and thought it might be a great resource. My father is Charles W. Drake, born in Spencer, NY. His father was Leon Drake. I'll try to get more information and update the thread as I receive it. I know a cousin and an aunt are working on researching this as well, but I rarely see or talk them as I live pretty far away from them both.
I went to school in jasper ny with a james Drake whose father is Leo or Leon Drake and his grandfather was Leon Drake

My Grandmother was Edith Drake brother to Leon Drake b. 1889. Leon Drake's father was Bodwell Sargent Drake b. 1861

Hello Greg

your my husband Tim's cousin,

I've been trying to gather imformation together Too

Hello Susan,
I am looking for more information on John Drake, born about 1812 in New York. His home in 1850 was Erin, Chemung, New York. His wife's name was Elizabeth and he had several children: George b. August 1841, Frances b. abt 1844, Harmon b. abt 1846, Mary b. abt. 1847, John b. abt. 1856 and Sophronia b. April 05, 1863. There was possibly another daughter named Susan, b. abt. 1853. All the children were born in New York except Sophronia who was born in Minnesota. Their home in 1875 was Rock Dell, Olmsted, Minnesota. Sophronia was my Great Grandmother. She married Albert Hutchinson Morden and lived in Morden, Manitoba, Canada.
Could you help me find more about this family, in particular John's parents and what Drake line he came from. Thank you.
Kathy
Hi Ray Drake here.
I was just wondering gggrandfather came from somewhere in New York State. He was born in 1814 his name was Joel Drake.
His father was John Drake and his mother was Mary they die and are buried in Calhoun county Michigan. The trail goes cold there. I had dna test done it seems that I am decended from Capt Francis Drake of Piscataway New Jersey. I cannot connect John Drake to Piscatawy only by DNA. I was wondering if anybody has any clues?
Ray
