Hi Sheila. Are you related to any Wright's? I saw a tree that I didn't have access to. I'm looking for Samuel Wright, born 1800 in PA. Probably Centre County. Thanks.
Sheila,
I think you're probably right about the names. Most of the people couldn't read or write so they went on how it sounded. The info I have says the Fluharty name comes from the Irish "O'Flaharty" from Galway and Kerry. My mother was born in Ireland and I have been there a number of times and this area is beautiful. So you're family is from Noah's son Henry? Mine is from his other son,William. I have only one Fluharty picture of Reason Fluharty. It is very old and I have cleaned it up as much as possible. I can email a copy if you would like. I can also email my genealogy from William Fluharty. I would love to know all about the early Fluharty's.
Sheila,
I have gotten a lot of information on Fluharty/Fleharty/ and Fleeharty and I am not sure how they are connected. I have been told that Fluharty/ and Fleharty are not related, that they are two separate families that came to America from Ireland. I think they are probably related in Ireland and came over at different times, but there is no proof that I have seen. Have you been able to connect the families? My father's cousin had been able to keep the lines separate but I went through all of my information to make sure I hadn't thrown anyone in. I have lots of questions about the family.
My grandmother was a Fluharty, her father was James C. Fluharty son of J. M. Fluharty and Mary Ann Howard. His father was William Fluharty. I have been doing Fluharty research for only about 4 years, but I inherited some from my father's cousin. Do you have any information on what happened to Mary Snodgrass after her marriage to William. I have that she married someone named Floyd, but no other information.
