A list about where your ancestors came from in Norway

My Norwegian roots are from Trøndelag, Buskerud, Vestfold, Akershus and Østfold. My ancestors from Trøndelag have a lot of emigrating brothers and sisters. I have found some of them, but would like to find more

My mother's side came from Norway - in the region of Trondhjem (Trondheim) and Trongelag (north & south). This branch came to the USA and scattered, from Nebraska, Wisconsin, Texas and California.

On my father's side they came from Oslo and Akershus. This line came to the US and settled in Minnesota for the most part.

I have Norwegian ancestors on both sides of my family. The Norwegian ancestors on my mother's side were from Bø, in Telemark. The Norwegian ancestors on my father's side were in Rogaland, first in Avaldnes and later in Haugesund.

My grandmother (Sigrid Anderson) was born in Christiana in 1902 and came through Ellis Island in 1904.

My Norwegian ancestors came from Oppland, Buskerud, and Hedmark. I, too, have ancestors with a lot of siblings who came to America. I am in touch with some of their descendants. (Our families still have huge family reunions.) My family's ancestors originally immigrated to Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin, but we have wound up scattered throughout the United States and Canada.

My great grandfather came from Nesset clerical district in Møre og Romsdal county. His wife came from Kvæfjord parish in Troms county.

My family came from Oslo, Sør Odal, Strøm, Vinger, Kongsvinger, Velta, Galterud, Eidskog (some still there).

One side of my family is from KarmØy Island in Rogaland, and my family name is Oien, coming from, I assume, Oien, in Nordland.

My ancestors came from eastern Finnmark, mainly Vadsø, Vardø, Tana, and further back some came from northern Finland and Sweden. My adopted fathers family came from Sogn, mainly Hyllestad and that area.
